Design by Antti Asplund

Antti Asplund, one of the 'young designers' of Helsinki. Simple yet stylish everyday clothing, and some of these fanciful and unique pieces of fashion.

One day I saw a really nice looking outfit at the street: it was a pair of suspenders holding up kneepants, plus a pair of kneesocks and a simple white shirt. Nothing else was needed. I didn't see who that tall, rangy guy was, but I think it was Asplund. The outfit somehow felt like him.

Dreaming of a White Winter

This is what Finland looks like in January 2010. White, snowy, frosty. A true Wonderland!

The temperature in Helsinki today was about -15 degrees (Celsius, not Fahrenheit). If you are dressed properly, it's not really cold is it? Maybe a couple of stockings (referrably woollen), warm boots, thick accessories... Freelancer's Fashionblog has a great tutorial for dressing when it's this cold!

Just imagine Siberia somewhere in Northern Russia, where it easily can be some -50, so this is nothing. Just breezy and nice :)

And here is this qute squirrel, who doesn't really care of the cold. He's just having a quick snack on top of the bird feeder. And look at that small titmouse, he's waiting to get a bite to eat, too.

With Love, Finland

Welcome to the world of design, fashion and culture in Finland!
I bet you´ll love it, just as much as I do.
